Finished making this sig tonight. I’d had the idea floating around in my head for a couple of days now. It wasn’t until this morning that I finally figured out how I wanted the end result to look like. Took ages to make Hyo blend into the wall texture. Even now, I’m not really that happy with it. I think the first version looks more natural, since the colors are more harmonious. The white background in the second version makes Hyo look a bit out of place. I’ll probably keep tweaking it every now and then while I work on other things.

Finally figured out how to get multiple images in a post without tumblr turning it into a slideshow.

I found this pic in the folder with Samyang Ramen outtakes in it and just HAD to make an icon out of it. I had to use the smudge tool to extend the sky since the image was too short after resizing. Knocked this one out in 15 mins. Maybe I’m finally getting better at making icons. :)

This is the second SPAO related icon I made today. This one is Yuri of Girls’ Generation. It was really hard to create a background for this render too. A lot harder than Taeyeon’s one, due to the fact that her baseball cap is super bright and blends in too much with a bright background. In the end, I just went ahead and made her cap blend in completely with the background and pretty much blurred/faded the rest apart from her face.

The background texture credit goes to *masterjinn @deviantART. I used one of his free textures and applied a motion blur to it to create the wide streaks of colour.

EDIT: Cleaned up the text for Taeyeon’s name. :D

This is the first of two icons I made today. The render is from Girls’ Generation’s SPAO promotional photos. It took me a helluva long time to finish this one. I don’t know if it’s the smaller canvas, but I had a really difficult time thinking of a good background for Taeyeon’s portrait.

I tried putting text on this one just to experiment with what sizes work and also just to play around with some new fonts I downloaded last night. :D I’ll have to go in later and manually fix the pixels in her name. Can’t be bothered doing that right now.

I would’ve published all the icons in one post, but bloody tumblr automatically creates a Flash slideshow from it. Anyone know how to turn it off as a default?

Another sig, the base is from one of the Samyang Ramen outtakes. This one was pretty difficult due to the large amounts of white from the snow. The original image had a lomo-like color palette and vignetting, so in the end, I went with the flow. Didn’t add much to this, just added a color overlay, some texture brushes and messed with the color levels. >_< Took about 30 mins on this one.

Also, the size is slightly larger than the standard and is 380x140 instead.

Made another sig today. This time it’s of SNSD at their first Asia concert tour. I overlaid the picture of the girls on stage on top of a snapshot of the ‘pink ocean’. Surprisingly, it also provided some nice texture for free. :D 15 mins worth of work on this one.

It’s really pink…T_T I always hated pink before I became a S♡NE. :P

Getting back into making sigs in Photoshop. I’m really rusty, so I’ve been following the tutorials on sigtutorials. This is my end result after completing the Absolute beginner tutorial. Pretty pleased with it for 10-15 mins worth of effort. :D
